About
The Asian Wedding was first launched in January 2004. As one of the very first Asian wedding websites, The Asian Wedding quickly established itself as a reputable, lively and up to date site, which offered bridesĀ refreshing and insightful content to help them plan their big day.
It hosted a number of wedding fairs across the Midlands between 2005-2008 and worked to create good partnerships with key industry players.
Soon it became apparent that the industry was waking up to the online markets, and yes, several poor imitators (one actually called The Asian Wedding Directory – as we were in 2004) were born. But The Asian Wedding’s ethos was never about dumbing down the industry, or creating cliques. It wasn’t even about money. It was just about sharing some great content to counteract the rubbish that was already circulating.
Despite the rising number of Asian Wedding Directories (you know the ones, most of them useless) The Asian Wedding, being run single handedly by an Asian housewife was still a popular resource for Asian brides and grooms. It had a loyal and well established subscriber base. So it continued to survive through the recession and indeed ensured that it had an online presence. And because it didn’t just list wedding suppliers, it added value to its readers. Thus, it continues to be one of the firm favourite sites of UK brides and grooms getting married toay.
With advances in social media, especially Twitter, 2010 will see The Asian Wedding take on the social media challenge and connect with readers on a whole new platform to deliver the informed content, the inspirational ideas and just plain good cheer, that they deserve.
